Wine tasting
With good release of very fine bubbles, it is pale and yellow with many greenish notes. On the nose it is floral, with notes of spices and orange blossoms. On the palate it is dry, with soft sensations, certain toasted tastes, some nuts and flour oven that combine with those of ripe apple and merkoc fruits being very well balanced by the aging of the cava. It is very persistent, and leaves complex tastes that are maintained over time. Made with one of the best vintages, it preserves the characteristics of the vintage, without losing its personality, even increasing the sensations of balance and complexity, which makes it a unique cava.
Conservation and consumption recommendations
Store in the same position as when served, in a cool, dry place away from light. Serve at 6-10ºC depending on the season and personal taste.
Gastronomy
The Homenatge Cal Rei was created because Jaume Giró liked cavas with a certain sweetness, and that they were also aged. It is, therefore, a round and balanced one. Its aging time gives it a great complexity of tastes and aromas, as well as a freshness that is unusual for the time it has. For this reason, it will pair perfectly with both the simplest dishes of our Catalan cuisine, such as bread with tomato and ham or cannelloni, and the most complex dishes of the new cuisine, such as a pasta filled with seafood or deconstructed duck, and as it is a brut, with semi-sweet desserts of all kinds. And it will always be a good reason to celebrate.
